NUSURA HIRING DIRECTOR OF FEDERAL SERVICES

Nusura is now accepting applications for a full-time, salaried Director of Federal Services to provide program development and management for a variety of emergency preparedness, critical communications, and strategic planning services in the National Capital Region. The successful candidate is available to work full-time from Washington D.C. and report for work by Mid-April, 2018.

Nusura has also developed emergency plans, written planning guidance, and provided training services to airlines, cruise lines, emergency management agencies and other jurisdictions large and small across the globe. In addition to consulting and technical assistance, Nusura’s in-house creative studio develops innovative products that are changing the field of emergency management. This includes our exercise design and delivery platform, SimulationDeck – recently featured in WIRED magazine – which provides realistic media and social media for training and exercise purposes.

About the Position:

Working from Washington D.C., the Director of Federal Services reports to Nusura’s Senior Director of Programs and is responsible for nurturing and growing Nusura’s emergency management, homeland security and critical communications practices in the federal public sector and with any customers local to the National Capital Region. Core roles for this position include:

  • Mission advancement: further Nusura’s mission and business objectives by identifying and championing opportunities to create, compete, innovate, collaborate and otherwise promote and distinguish our brand reputation, credibility, industry authority and market share
  • Business development: secure the return business of existing clients, and identify and develop new opportunities to grow Nusura’s federal public sector practice
  • Customer service: ensure the highest level of program quality and customer satisfaction for Nusura’s direct clients, partners, industry collaborators and other stakeholders

On a day-to-day basis, Director of Federal Services responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a senior project manager on projects as assigned by the Sr. Director of Programs – predominantly in the NCR and Federal practice area. Most project assignments will be for projects based in the National Capital Region and Federal Civilian (non-defense) clients – but as needed, the director may be required to support (or lead) projects outside of his/her practice area
  • Provide oversight, QA/QC on all projects for federal customers and customers located in the NCR as assigned by the Sr. Director of programs, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, on budget, while ensuring the highest-level of customer service for clients and business partners, and encouraging continuous quality improvement opportunities
  • Provide oversight, QA/QC, subject matter experience or any other kind of support on any project as assigned by the Sr. Director of Programs
  • Identify and pursue NCR-based project work and federal related business development opportunities
  • Lead or support proposal development and other business capture efforts related to commercial, state and local services or other opportunities as assigned by the Sr. Director
  • Identify and leverage opportunities to develop relationships with DC-based partners – this includes participating in-person in NCR-based meetings whenever possible/practicable
  • Provide timely, accurate, and complete information to the Sr. Director on all client-facing functions within the director’s area of responsibility, including business development, program execution, staff development, product and services development, etc.
  • Advise the Sr. Director on strategies, opportunities, policies and procedures that promote Nusura’s culture, mission and business objectives
  • Recruit NCR-based talent to support new NCR-based and other Federal project work with the goal of ultimately building an NCR-based team to support a growing NCR and Federal practice area
